several jokes to “The Tonight Show,” two of which were read on air by Johnny Carson.  When Louis moved to Northern California to attend UC Berkeley, he continued to pursue comedy as a writer/performer with the Theater Rice sketch comedy troupe. After graduating, he began performing stand-up throughout the Bay Area and quickly made a name
for himself. He is now a professional comedian who can be seen performing at clubs and colleges across the country. In 2005, Louis had a great year, appearing in both the Montreal Comedy Festival and Atlanta’s “Laffapalooza” Comedy Festival. His appearance at the 2006 Just For Laughs was so impressive he was named one of the “Best of the Fest” and reviewers asked “where have they been hiding this guy?” The answer was, in comedy clubs across Canada where Tim has established himself as a top-draw for the past 16 years.

His high-octane show is a hilarious mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring all his personal issues to life. Gabe’s clean, animated comedy style has earned national crossover appeal. Ask anyone who has seen him in concert and you will probably hear the same thing, "He was so funny!"

Known as the "fluffy" comic in a Hawaiian shirt, the 33-year old funny man often riffs about his girthy middle - whether it's talking about how little dancing it takes for him to work up a sweat at the nightclub, or how hearing his girlfriend coo the words "chocolate cake" over the telephone works for him like phone sex, he evokes laughter.

Floyd J. Phillips

April 13 - 16,  2011  |  $6.00 - $13.00  |  Joey's Comedy Club  |  734.261.0555

imageFloyd J. Phillips’ humor is derived from his upbringing in the ghetto of Chicago. His mother raised five kids all by her lonesome after his deadbeat dad shacked up with another woman. But that didn’t stop Floyd. He found role models in his football and wrestling coaches. He’ll never forget that day, at the tender age of eleven, when a thirteen-year-old, ex-con line backer clobbered him at practice. When Floyd, with tears in his eyes, regained consciousness, his coach said those inspirational words in front of his whole team, “Floyd, if you want to continue to play football tomorrow, make sure you leave your purse at home.” That day taught him a valuable life lesson about pain: either walk it off or learn to accessorize better. He’s been walking it off ever since. Floyd’s tough background gives him the courage to talk about the topics other people avoid: topics such as abortion, pedophilia, date rape, death penalty, gun control, the mentally challenged and racism. Not to exclude Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses, Floyd also discusses happier things like dating, babysitting his precious nieces and nephews, and technology. Comedy has taken this little kid from the ghetto of Chicago to winning the Seattle Comedy Competition in 2000 and being a finalist in the 2001 San Francisco Comedy Competition. Floyd J. Phillips’ diverse comedy has allowed him to play USO tours, cruise ships, colleges, and comedy clubs across the nation. All of which has shown Floyd more of the world than he ever thought he would see.

Showtimes Wed-Thu 8:00 PM, Fri-Sat 8:00 PM & 10:30 PM.

Bill Burr

April 23, 2011  |  8:00 PM  |  $25.00 - $30.00  |  Royal Oak Music Theatre  |  248.399.2980

imageBill Burr is an American comedian or a comedian from the North American Union, depending on when you read this. He grew up outside of Boston, Massachusetts and did fairly poorly in school, despite the fact that he applied himself.

Having first gained notoriety for his reoccurring role on the second season of Chappelle’s Show, Burr has gone on to become a regular performer on the Late Show with David Letterman and to have his very own HBO Half Hour Special.

Bill’s most recent project was an hour-long comedy special entitled: “Why Do I Do This?” that aired on Comedy Central, and is now available in stores and on this web site.

When in New York, Burr always performs on the Opie and Anthony Radio Show and eats at Ray’s Famous Pizza. Bill also co-hosts his own XM radio show, “Uninformed”, with fellow comedian Joe DeRosa.

Bill is against organized religion and believes we should go back to the gold standard for our currency. None of his opinions are based on any sort of reliable information. He tends to go with his first thought, because reading makes him sleepy.

In the future Bill hopes to get married, have some kids, and get a dog. But until then, he will continue to spend most of his mid-afternoons sitting in his sweatpants learning AC/DC songs on his SG.

Claude Stuart

April 27 - 30,  2011  |  $6.00 - $13.00  |  Joey's Comedy Club  |  734.261.0555

imageFrom packing comedy venues across the globe to regular television appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show,” and “Last Comic Standing,” Claude Stuart has come a long way from his down home southern roots. By his own admission, he was “paddled on more than one occasion for being the class clown.” Claude’s explosive, in-your-face, rapid-fire, madman stage style is truly an exhilarating assault on the senses and has evoked comparisons to golden era physical comedians such as Steve Martin, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. Claude’s unique brand of Don Rickles-esque crowd interaction, coupled with clever well-written jokes makes him not only the world’s first physical insult comedian but a “comedy triple threat!”

Claude’s decision to pursue a career as a comedian was not well received by his family. Born in deep south tugboat town, Greenville Mississippi, Claude’s attorney father and school teacher mother were not initially thrilled their only son chose stand-up over law school. Growing up, there was a lot of judgement. “Most kids got in trouble; I got cross examined and would hear things like, ‘This is what you did wrong and here’s why,’” says Claude. Instead of taking the criticism personally, he transformed the experience into the unique style his fans have come to know and love. He likens his comedy to legal arguments focused upon proving a point, which clearly comes from growing up in a family full of lawyers. Now, even his parents agree: comedy was the right choice.

Claude’s natural comedic flair was recognized early on. As a teen he interned at a local radio station and ended up writing and performing a morning show broadcast to over 30 cities nationwide. Next he won the title, “Funniest Person at SMU.” After a pit stop in Houston where he developed his stand up act, he naturally ended up in L.A.. This lead to an extremely successful stand up career; as well as myriad appearances in feature films and television, including a recent spot starring with Jay Leno on the wildly popular “Undercover Jay” skit segment of “The Tonight Show.”  Some of his other credits include national commercials for products such as, Honda, Heineken, Jeep, Grapenuts and even Midol. He has appeared on “That 70’s Show,” “Scrubs,” “Comics Unleashed,” “Entertainers,” “The Best Damn Sports Period!,” “Oblivious!,” “Talk Soup” and as a regular on “The Bob and Tom Show.”

Claude frequently performs at the world famous Hollywood Improv and is currently on tour, headlining comedy clubs, colleges and military tours for our troops; nationwide and internationally.  He books out for corporate gigs for a 5 digit pricetag and recently co-starred in the upcoming independent film “15 Minutes of Fame.” Claude lives in Hollywood.

Showtimes Wed-Thu 8:00 PM, Fri-Sat 8:00 PM & 10:30 PM.

Rob Little

May 11 - 14,  2011  |  $6.00 - $13.00  |  Joey's Comedy Club  |  734.261.0555

imageRob Little’s outlook on life can be summed-up in two words: Pure Optimism. At a young age, he developed and nurtured an upbeat philosophy about life. "In elementary school, kids would always pull food away from me at lunchtime saying mean, hurtful things like… ’Let go of my sandwich!’" Fortunately, Rob’s ability to see things in a positive light, coupled with his desire to make people laugh, has served him well. While working in a lucrative position as a computer programmer for IBM, he decided to take a huge risk.

The Detroit-born comic sent out an ALL-company e-mail that read "If you aren’t happy here, quit your job and follow your dream." IBM promptly gave him his walking papers, but getting fired was a blessing for Rob and comedy lovers nationwide. He now enjoys an incredibly successful career as a standup comedian and with an impressive and growing portfolio of television and film appearances, he is quickly earning national recognition. Watch Rob in action, and you’ll agree that he is one of the very best stand-up comedians in the country. A sketch comedy player on the Fox Sports Net Show, "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" and "Last Call with Carson Daly," Little uses his training from the world famous Second City Comedy Club to create routines that are inventive, funny, spontaneous, and completely unique. He headlines clubs and colleges all over the country, has appeared in national television commercials and on such shows as “Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew,” Comedy Central’s “Distraction,” Fox News and SiTV’s “Latino Laugh Festival.” He also earned a role on the CBS network summer hit series, “Fire me Please.”

Rob’s recently released 2nd comedy DVD/CD, “Haulin’ Ass,” is another testament to his talent and status as a comedic force. Having established himself as one of the funniest, most progressive, new comedians in the country, it’s easy to understand why entertainment bookers call him "The Future of comedy with more contagious energy than the Energizer Bunny." The Detroit Free press selected him as Michigan’s “Best up and Coming Comedian,” and he earned the title of “finalist” in both the Seattle and San Francisco International Comedy Competitions. Rob was also selected as a feature performer at the Chicago Comedy Festival along with the Boston Comedy and Movie Festival. And in 2007 Rob was named Maxim Magazine’s “Real Man of Comedy”. Don’t let the "Little" name fool you. Little is BIG! "Yeah, I’m big, and all my relatives are too. Heck, we just got our family portrait done by aerial photography. And there are only three of us." The truth is, Rob is big in more ways than one. With a grin on his face, a gleam in his eye, and a passion for comedy that is larger than life, he’s the biggest thing to happen to comedy in a long, long time.

imageReno's journey began at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta, GA where he tended bar to supplement his day job. One night he found himself on stage during the weekly open mic night. His unique outlook on life – mixed with a six-pack – was instantly popular and provided a platform to launch a career as a comedian. Reno has built a reputation by selling out comedy clubs and colleges nationwide. Reno's other national tours look more like a comedian's wish list than a resume, including theater and arena tours with the legendary Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Ron White. Check him out!

Rob Little

November 10 - 12, 2011  |  $10.00 - $18.00  |  Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle  |  248.542.9900

imageRob Little’s outlook on life can be summed-up in two words: Pure Optimism.
